Love and marriage lectures in universities

Lectures to reveal the myths of love and marriage have become more and
more popular in Chinese universities. A lecture of that kind attracts at
least one hundred students, most being freshmen and sophomores.
Love and marriage do have their problems behind the rosy scenes, and
these lectures actually work as precautions, answering students'
questions and solving their puzzles, no wonder they are so popular.
"Don't think that today's kids are open-minded and tactful. As a matter
of fact, many of them hardly know anything about love and marriage, thus
it is necessary to give lectures on that subject," said Xu Weisu, a
teacher and psychological adviser from Huadong Normal University.
Love has long remained a secret topic in China, thus is it proper to
bring it to class for discussion?
Xu thinks that it is the secrecy that has caused certain problems, and
revealing will only help the students to get a better understanding of
and a better preparation for their future life.
